A well-established engineering business operating one of the most significant marine facilities in the UK is looking for an experienced Project Planner to join an active team and support a busy programme of vessel projects. The role is available immediately on a 3-to-6-month fixed term basis, and for the right person there’s a realistic possibility of something longer.
What You’ll Be Doing
- You’ll build and maintain detailed project schedules in MS Project, translating vessel specifications into properly resourced plans and allocating labour, materials and equipment across live jobs.
- Day to day, you’ll be tracking progress, managing risks, producing S-curves, reports and planning documentation, and making sure all project stakeholders are kept informed.
- There’s also a commercial dimension, supporting bid planning and working alongside the commercial team on upcoming work.
- It’s a broad remit with genuine visibility across the business. This isn’t a back-office planning function. What you produce has a direct bearing on how projects are delivered.
What You’ll Need
- Practical experience in marine maintenance, repair or overhaul, including dry dock environments.
- Strong MS Project skills.
- A commercial planning background.
- An engineering or shipbuilding background.
- HNC as a minimum; degree preferred.
- Clear communication and solid organisational skills.
