This is a Quality Manager role with real weight to it. A well-established precision engineering business in Tayside is looking for someone to take ownership of quality, compliance and safety management across the operation. You will be a member of the leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and Operations Director, and the expectation is that you will lead from the front.

The scope here is broad. Your responsibilities will cover:

  • Development and management of the Business and Safety Management System
  • Driving quality and compliance processes in line with customer and regulatory requirements
  • Leading hazard identification, risk management and internal safety reporting
  • Managing and developing the Quality team, including training and competence coordination
  • Building and maintaining relationships with accreditation bodies, customers and regulators
  • Championing continuous improvement across the operation with a target of zero customer returns

This is not a purely procedural quality role. The business wants someone who will embed a genuine culture of quality and safety accountability into operational processes, not just monitor compliance from a distance.

To be considered, you will need:

  • Proven experience in a quality management role within a production or repair environment
  • Lead auditor experience and qualifications
  • Strong working knowledge of relevant industry regulatory frameworks and accreditation requirements
  • Relevant Safety Management Systems qualifications and experience
  • The communication skills and emotional intelligence to influence at all levels, from shop floor to leadership team

Performance in this role will be measured against safety metrics, quality KPIs, non-conformance reports, customer returns and audit completion. If you are comfortable being held to clear, meaningful targets, that will not be a problem.
