This is a Depot Manager role with a long-established wholesale distribution business in Central Scotland, and the package makes it worth paying close attention to.

Alongside a salary of up to £42,000, there's an uncapped profit share scheme that could realistically add up to 20% on top. The Depot Manager is one of the most influential people in the business when it comes to site profitability, so your ability to control costs, run an efficient operation, and keep customers happy directly affects what ends up in your pocket. That's a genuine incentive, not a token gesture.

You’ll be the number two in the business, leading a team of around 12 people including warehouse staff and drivers, and working directly alongside the Site Director to drive the operation forward.

What you’ll be responsible for:

  • O Licence compliance for a small vehicle fleet, including audits every six months and routine servicing obligations
  • Route planning across two internal vehicles, with smart outsourcing decisions on remaining deliveries to manage courier costs without compromising service
  • Import and export movements between Scotland, Northern Ireland, and the Republic of Ireland using the Trader Support Service (TSS)
  • Full Health and Safety ownership, including annual audits and staff training coordination
  • On site equipment management, waste handling, recycling processes, and associated tax obligations
  • Operational cost control across the depot
  • Leading and developing a team of warehouse staff and drivers

What we need from you:

  • Hands on experience managing warehouse and distribution operations
  • Practical O Licence and fleet compliance experience (you don’t need to have been the licence holder, but you should be familiar with the licence requirements)
  • Proven ability to manage courier relationships and control delivery costs
  • Familiarity with TSS for cross-border movements
  • Strong Health and Safety knowledge
  • Organised, cost aware, and comfortable owning a busy operation end to end

If you’re the type who takes pride in running a tight operation and wants to be rewarded when it performs well, this is a role worth pursuing.
