We are currently looking for a proactive janitor who is a hands-on individual capable of performing janitorial and minor maintenance duties to ensure the overall upkeep of the sports complex and surrounding grounds. They will clean, perform small repairs and support a high-growth environment while seeking continuous improvement.
Responsibilities:
- Perform general janitorial and maintenance tasks in accordance with local building and fire codes.
- Ensure entrances, grounds, and parking lot are kept clean, clear, and safe, including property and grounds cleanup.
- Cut grass and maintain edging.
- Remove seasonal snow and debris.
- Maintain appropriate checklists, records and reports for change room cleanliness, window cleanliness, washroom cleaning, shower cleaning, parking lot and property cleaning.
- Perform vacuuming, auto scrubbing, waxing and buffing in line with established floor care procedures.
- Assist with minor maintenance as required.
- Assist in ice maintenance during peak periods, short staffing or as required.
Education and Knowledge Requirements:
- Completed high school education or equivalent β asset.
- Valid driverβs license β asset.
- Building Service Worker Certificate (BC).
- Previous experience as a commercial building janitor β preferred.
- Willingness and ability to work flexible hours (evenings, weekends, and call outs).
- Approachable and team-oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
