Canford Law is seeking a Client Liaison Officer (Onboarder) to join our Manchester-based Credit Hire team.

This is a pivotal, client-facing role responsible for managing the early stages of a claim — acting as the primary point of contact for new clients and supporting the onboarding process from instruction through to file handover.

This position is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a proactive mindset, and an interest in developing a career in legal services.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft and send initial correspondence to clients on new matters, including retainers and authorities to act.
• Prepare and send initial correspondence and letters of intent to insurers and opposing solicitors.
• Proactively contact clients by telephone, email, and post to chase signed retainers and outstanding documentation.
• Answer client queries clearly, professionally and in a timely manner; escalate complex queries to the relevant file handler.
• Manage and prioritise a personal daily task list and diary to meet deadlines and handover targets.
• Handle incoming calls, direct them to the appropriate file handler and take accurate messages when required.
• Update the case management system with accurate and timely information, ensuring records are complete and current.
• Forward and file correspondence and documentation to the relevant file handler and maintain organised electronic and physical files.
• Chase clients for outstanding information after the retainer has been returned and ensure smooth transition to case handlers.
• Candidate Requirements
• Minimum of 1 years’ experience dealing with customers or clients by telephone.
• Genuine interest in working within a legal environment, particularly personal injury/credit hire matters.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a confident and professional telephone manner.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
• Good problem-solving ability and a proactive, can-do attitude.
• Confidence using Microsoft Word and Outlook; comfortable learning new case management systems.
• Ability to use initiative, work independently and perform well under pressure to meet deadlines.
• High level of attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate records.
