Canford School is seeking to appoint two Residential Life Managers to help shape the culture of its newly established Sixth Form College. This is a distinctive pastoral leadership role focused on supporting Upper Sixth pupils as they develop independence and prepare for life beyond school.
Each postholder will act as pastoral lead for a wing of the College residences (boys or girls), helping to create a positive, supportive and purposeful residential community. Working closely with the Residential Head of Sixth Form and wider pastoral teams, they will contribute to an innovative model of Sixth Form boarding.
The successful candidates will be warm, resilient and emotionally intelligent individuals with experience of working with young people aged 16–18. Strong communication skills, sound pastoral judgement and a clear understanding of safeguarding are essential.
This is not a traditional houseparent role, but a unique opportunity to help shape a new approach to Sixth Form residential life. Accommodation is provided. 40 hours per week on duty, with additional flexibility required to support the residential nature of the role.
