The predicted salary is between 1200 - 1800 £ per month.
Under instruction of the duty line manager, will prepare and deliver food to a high standard.
Duties
- Hands on food production and food service.
- Positive and enthusiastic approach to working in a team demonstrating good behaviour and a flexible can-do attitude.
- Ability to receive and follow instruction and take on board feedback in a positive manner.
- Ability to be self-motivated and demonstrate use of initiative to engage in all tasks within the kitchen.
- To take instruction and deliver food within pre-designated parameters of portion control and output timings, including service Front of House.
- To ensure that all items prepared in the kitchen are prepared to a high standard.
- To act on tasks given at briefing, as delivered daily to the commis in order to execute and serve food items for staff, pupils, and customers.
- To attend regular training sessions as described.
- Ensure all deliveries are stored and rotated in a timely manner, under the supervision of the Demi/Chef de Parties.
- Ensure a contemporary delivery of food to exceed expectations of all recipients.
- To complete all daily checklists as laid out by Sous chef.
- Take responsibility for own areas of Food Safety and Health and Safety as laid out in the departmental policies.
- To be fully compliant with the Schools Allergen Policies.
- To carry out any other reasonable request by the line managers.
- Ensure all due diligence records and samples are kept when asked.
- To work closely with teams including but not exhaustive: Hospitality, Breakfast, Chef de Parties, fellow Commis / Senior Commis and their immediate colleagues under direction, in order to deliver product.
Knowledge / Experience
- NVQ Catering or equivalent (D).
- Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (E).
- Evidence of training skills required (D).
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar environment (E).
- Good communication and organisational skills (E).
- Excellent attention to detail (E).
- Articulate (E).
- Smart personal appearance (E).
- Enthusiastic and bubbly personality (E).
