Canford Law are seeking a Housing Disrepair Paralegal to join our Bournemouth or Manchester office. This is a full-time, hybrid role offering excellent hands-on experience for candidates wishing to build a career in housing law and litigation. The successful candidate will support fee earners and the housing disrepair team by handling client enquiries, gathering evidence, and setting up new matters on the case management system.
Responsibilities include:
- Handle inbound telephone enquiries in a professional, empathetic and client-focused manner.
- Answer client questions and address concerns relating to housing conditions and disrepair.
- Assess information and evidence provided to assist in determining prospects of success (under supervision).
- Open and set up new housing disrepair claims on the case management system.
Requirements:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a confident, professional telephone manner.
- Proficiency using computer systems and willingness to learn legal case management software.
- Previous housing disrepair experience or exposure to housing law matters.
- Previous property or litigation experience in a similar paralegal or legal assistant role.
- Experience using legal case management systems and document management tools.
- Paralegal qualification or legal support experience (e.g., LLB, paralegal certificate, CILEX study in progress) is advantageous.
