About the Role
We are working with a leading UK metals business focused on turning waste into valuable secondary resources. They are seeking an experienced Environmental & Compliance Manager to take ownership of all environmental and regulatory compliance across their site operations. This is a key leadership role within the local management team, ensuring the business not only meets its legal obligations but stays ahead of evolving legislationsupporting sustainable growth and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all aspects of environmental compliance and ensure full adherence to UK environmental legislation and regulatory requirements.
- Manage environmental permitting, planning requirements, water discharge consents, and waste shipment documentation and notifications.
- Proactively monitor and interpret regulatory changes, ensuring the business remains compliant and commercially competitive.
- Act as a core member of the site leadership team
- Maintain and develop integrated management systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards.
- Support operational decision-making by providing clear, accurate compliance and environmental reporting.
About You
- Strong background in environmental compliance within the waste management, metals, or resource recovery sectors.
- In-depth knowledge of Environmental Permitting Regulations and associated UK environmental legislation.
- Experience managing regulatory submissions including permits, water discharge consents, and waste shipment documentation.
- Familiarity with ISO management systems (9001, 14001, 45001).
- Confident communicator with the ability to engage effectively across operational and leadership teams. xiskglj
