With three hires made into the business over the past couple of weeks, they are now looking to grow even further with a Senior DBA with strong SQL Server experience to take ownership of their database environment. This is a hands-on DBA-focused role with a clear opportunity to progress into a broader Data Engineering position over time, including exposure to data pipelines, reporting, and modern data tooling.

The Role
You’ll play a key role in maintaining and improving the performance, reliability, and design of the company’s SQL Server databases. Responsibilities include:
- Managing database performance, availability, and overall health
- Handling backups, restores, and disaster recovery processes
- Monitoring and optimising queries, indexing, and execution plans
- Supporting database migrations and upgrades
- Collaborating with developers to improve database design and usage
- Ensuring strong data integrity, security, and access control
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Strong experience working with Microsoft SQL Server
- Solid background in database administration (backups, performance tuning, monitoring)
- Experience optimising queries and improving database performance
- Understanding of database design, schema structure, and data integrity
Nice to Have (but not essential):
- Exposure to ETL / data pipelines
- Experience with reporting tools (e.g. Power BI, SSRS)
- Aware of cloud-based database environments
