I'm currently working with a client who is investing heavily in Artificial Intelligence and looking to appoint an experienced AI Architect to help shape and deliver their AI strategy. This is a genuinely exciting opportunity for someone who comes from a strong C#/.NET background and has evolved into AI architecture whilst remaining hands-on with development. We aren’t looking for a pure strategist; we need someone who enjoys getting involved in the technical delivery, building proof of concepts, validating ideas and implementing production-ready AI solutions.
The Role
- Defining AI architecture and technical direction across the organisation
- Developing scalable backend services using C# and .NET
- Modernising legacy .NET applications and identifying opportunities for AI adoption
- Building Proof of Concepts (PoCs) to evaluate emerging AI technologies and business opportunities
- Designing and delivering enterprise-scale AI solutions from concept through to production
- Working extensively with Azure AI services and cloud-native technologies
- Integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into existing and new applications
- Designing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and intelligent knowledge systems
- Establishing best practice around AI governance, security and scalability
Experience required
- Strong commercial experience with C# and .NET development
- Experience designing and implementing AI solutions in a commercial environment
- A blend of architecture expertise and hands-on software engineering capability
- Proven experience delivering Proof of Concepts and taking successful initiatives into production
- Strong Azure cloud experience
- Experience modernising legacy applications and driving technical transformation
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Passion for emerging technologies and practical AI adoption
