Candour Talent are recruiting an Estimator to join their client’s team in Pontypool.

  • Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent
  • Hours: Monday to Thursday 08.00 - 16.00 and Friday 09:00 - 13:00
  • Salary: £29-38k DOE NEG

Due to our client’s continued growth, we are looking for an experienced Estimator to join their team based in Pontypool. Our client is a leading UPVC and glazing supplier operating in the UK new build sector with an excellent reputation for quality and customer service. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing accurate and timely quotations from architectural drawings and specifications and supporting the Tender Project Manager in securing new business. Working within a structured tender review process, you will ensure all quotations are independently verified before submission, maintaining accuracy, consistency, and commercial integrity.

We are looking for an organised and commercially aware individual with experience in an estimating, pricing, or tendering role, and preferably with a background in construction, windows/doors, or similar industry.

The Role:

  • Review architectural drawings, specifications, and tender documentation provided by clients and contractors
  • Take full ownership of tenders from initial enquiry through to draft submission
  • Prepare detailed and accurate quotations using Excel and Window Designer software
  • Participate in a structured peer review process via check and balance procedures
  • Manage revisions to drawings and specifications throughout the tender lifecycle and trigger transactional restrictions via finance team as applicable
  • Maintain clear records of submissions, revisions, and commercial decisions
  • Support post-tender queries where required
  • Ensure seamless handover of successful tenders to the Finance team for transactional launch within the business

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Previous experience in an estimating, pricing, or tendering role
  • Experience in construction, windows/doors, or similar industry
  • IT proficiency with advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Experience using Window Designer or similar industry software
  • Able to interpret architectural drawings and technical specifications
  • Commercial awareness and understanding of margins and cost control
  • Knowledge of the construction industry and building regulations
  • Methodical and detail-focused
  • Strong sense of accountability and ownership
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work to deadlines
  • Able to manage multiple tenders simultaneously without compromising accuracy
