Our client is looking for a customer-focused Project Engineer to join their team based in Cardiff. This role would suit an individual who thrives in a fast-paced, hands-on role, and has a solid foundation of hardware and software knowledge, and project and stakeholder management experience. The successful candidate will be part of a talented and driven team and will be tasked with capturing detailed customer requirements to provide the best product outcomes, while maintaining stakeholder communication and managing tight deadlines and budgets. Some travel in the UK and Europe will be required for this role.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop and build support processes and/or products to include testing, troubleshooting, training, and ongoing support.
- Create technical engineering documentation, such as analyses of customer needs and/or sales requirements to develop these into technical specifications for the project.
- Project manage and work with various stakeholders throughout the business to include provision of all appropriate resources and budget allocation and tracking, provide regular updates to all stakeholders in line with project milestones.
- Plan and schedule work and projects within our manufacturing environment to ensure availability of resource in line with project plans and milestones.
- Coordinate and provide appropriate communication on all levels with internal and external stakeholders to ensure full understanding of project stages and requirements leading to successful project outcomes.
- Keep up to date with new technology and approaches within the market to highlight future opportunities and to make improvements to current processes and products.
- Support the roll out of new products and provide support for any issues that arise.
Ideal Candidate
- 2 to 4 years of relevant Engineering or Project Management experience.
- A relevant degree in Engineering or Project management.
- A qualification in an Engineering or Scientific discipline, or equivalent practical experience and/or knowledge.
- Experience with Project Management Methodology and Project Delivery.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills with face-to-face customer service experience.
- Manufacturing industry experience and/or process knowledge.
- Knowledge of hardware/software IT solutions and good understanding of Microsoft Windows and back-end software.
- Experience with new product introduction/development.
- Decision-making and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail, report-writing, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated and a 'can-do' attitude.
