Candour Talent are recruiting a Building Fabric Technician to join their client’s team in the Avonmouth area.
- Employment Type: Full Time/Permanent
- Salary: £30-37k (depending on skills and experience)
An excellent opportunity for a multi-skilled tradesperson, handyperson, or facilities maintenance technician to join a well-established facilities and maintenance team as a Building Fabric Technician to carry out a range of repair works, spanning various trade activities, whilst working safely, neatly, and accurately. The successful candidate will provide reactive and proactive maintenance tasks for a retail customer across various locations within a designated patch. You will carry out repair works throughout our customer estate, from roof to ground, including internal works, ensuring the highest standards at all times. A full UK driving licence is essential for this role. Due to the nature of the role, flexibility to work unsociable hours and weekends, as work is required to be completed outside of retail operating hours. These hours will be compensated at a higher rate of pay.
The Role: Deliver pre-planned and reactive maintenance activities including but not limited to:
- Fabric maintenance, Groundwork and Substructure repairs.
- Car Park, PFS Forecourt, Pavement, Delivery and Loading Bay surfacing including speed restriction devices, manhole covers, benching and white lining.
- Internal and External Protection including wall and floor cladding, refrigeration cabinets and gondola, bollards, trolleys bays etc.
- Internal and External Walls including cladding.
- Wall Finishes including tiling.
- Decoration
- Internal Partitioning
- Stairs and Balustrades
- Internal and External Ceilings
- Windows (excluding glazing)
- Doors
- Canopies
- Roofs including facia and rainwater goods
- Fences
- Manual Gates and Barriers
- Flooring finishes (excluding coverings and tiling) including skirting, duct covers etc.
- External Static Signs and Banners
- Trolley Bays
- Car Wash surrounds including plant room structures.
- General carpentry and metal working repairs to back bars, service desks etc.
Daily management of tools, materials and equipment to ensure execution of each job is conducted safely and efficiently. Document works before and after by taking photographs and including narrative of work completed including materials used. Proactive professional customer contact with clear communication to ensure customer requirements are understood and achieved.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Capable in carrying out works across multiple trades to a high level
- Previous experience in a facilities or maintenance role, or a multi-skilled tradesperson
- Commercial awareness and ability to estimate construction works accurately
- Happy to work outside and at height
- Good customer service and communication skills
- Effective problem-solving skills and decision maker
- Accurate and detail-orientated
- Organised, results-focused, with a continuous improvement mindset
