Overview
Technology Specialist Recruitment Consultant – Software Development Team with a well-established group operating across multiple UK locations in the equipment hire and services sector. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and develop IT systems, business platforms, and data processes for a growing organisation involved in major national infrastructure and construction projects.
Role Overview
This role will take ownership of the IT estate across the group – including infrastructure, business systems, data management, third-party suppliers, and user support. Working across departments, you’ll drive improvements, ensure compliance, and lead projects to modernise and streamline systems.
Responsibilities
- Manage and enhance core systems including ERP, hire/asset platforms, telematics, and finance systems
- Oversee relationships with external IT support and software providers, including contract performance and SLAs
- Lead on data governance, ensuring reporting accuracy, integrity, and dashboard creation (e.g. KPIs, utilisation, revenue)
- Drive cybersecurity, GDPR, and access control best practices across the group
- Plan and deliver IT projects including cloud migrations, integrations, and system upgrades
- Collaborate with operational and finance teams to optimise reporting and automate workflows
- Provide hands-on support and guidance to internal IT team members
What You’ll Bring
- Strong experience in IT or systems management, ideally in a multi-site environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365, SQL/reporting tools (Power BI or Excel), and general business systems
- Experience managing third-party vendors and leading system rollouts or upgrades
- Confident communicator who can bridge IT and business needs effectively
- Familiarity with hire or asset management software (e.g. InspHire, Syrinx) and finance systems such as Sage is a plus
