About the Role
This is an opportunity to lead the delivery of a data transformation, helping an organisation establish its first centralised data warehouse and modern reporting capability.This is a hands-on contract role where you'll take ownership from discovery and architecture design through to implementation, documentation and knowledge transfer.
What You'll Do
- Lead the end-to-end design and delivery of a Microsoft Fabric data platform.
- Design and implement scalable data warehouse/lakehouse architecture.
- Build and optimise automated data pipelines from APIs, databases, SaaS platforms and file-based sources.
- Replace manual reporting processes with robust, governed ETL/ELT solutions.
- Develop data models to support operational, commercial and financial reporting.
- Improve data quality, governance, security and access controls.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to enhance reporting and Power BI capabilities.
- Implement monitoring, logging and recovery processes to ensure platform reliability.
- Support future integrations and AI-driven analytics initiatives.
- Produce technical documentation and provide knowledge transfer to internal teams
Experience & Capabilities
- Proven experience delivering production data platforms using Microsoft Fabric.
- Strong hands-on experience with Fabric Data Factory.
- Experience designing and implementing data warehouse or lakehouse solutions.
- Advanced SQL and data modelling expertise.
- Experience integrating SaaS applications via REST APIs, database connectors and file-based ingestion.
- Experience building and optimising automated ETL/ELT pipelines.
- Experience designing data models and semantic models for Power BI.
- Experience implementing data security, access controls and deployment frameworks.
- Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
