We are looking for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker to join a residential service supporting children and young people in Worksop, Nottinghamshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in children’s residential care who understands the importance of consistency, structure, positive boundaries and creating a safe and nurturing environment for young people.
The Role
- Providing practical and emotional support to young people while helping maintain high standards across the service.
- Supporting children and young people with daily routines and activities.
- Building positive, consistent and professional relationships.
- Promoting independence, confidence and essential life skills.
- Supporting education, appointments, activities and wellbeing.
- Acting as a positive role model for young people.
- Supporting and guiding colleagues during shifts.
- Managing challenging situations calmly and professionally.
- Maintaining accurate records, reports and handovers.
- Following care plans, risk assessments and safeguarding procedures.

Essential Requirements
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People’s Workforce, or a relevant equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience within a children’s home, supported accommodation or similar children’s residential setting.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
- Experience supporting vulnerable children and young people.
- Confidence managing challenging behaviour and complex situations.
- Good communication, leadership and record keeping skills.
- Flexibility to work day and night shifts.
