The role:
- Deliver pre planned lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of teaching staff
- Ensure students remain engaged, focused and on task throughout lessons
- Manage classroom behaviour in line with school policies and expectations
- Maintain a calm, positive and purposeful learning environment
- Take responsibility for classroom organisation and student conduct
- Support students with questions relating to lesson activities and instructions
- Monitor attendance and accurately record lesson outcomes
- Provide feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour and engagement
- Support students with additional needs where appropriate
- Supervise students during transitions and other school activities when required
- Build positive and professional relationships with students and colleagues
- Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote student wellbeing at all times
We're looking for someone who:
- Is confident leading groups of young people
- Has excellent communication skills
- Can think on their feet and adapt quickly
- Remains calm under pressure
- Has a positive and professional approach to behaviour management
- Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is happy to apply for a new DBS
