We are looking for resilient, compassionate and engaging individuals who can build meaningful relationships with young people, helping them overcome barriers, regulate emotions and achieve success both inside and outside the classroom. The role:

  • Support students displaying challenging behaviour, SEMH needs or barriers to learning
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with students through a consistent and nurturing approach
  • Work on a one to one basis and in small groups to improve engagement, attendance and behaviour
  • Support students with emotional regulation, conflict resolution and social development
  • Act as a positive role model and mentor throughout the school day
  • Support pupils both inside and outside of the classroom to maximise learning opportunities
  • Work closely with teaching staff, pastoral teams and external professionals
  • Help implement behaviour support plans and intervention strategies
  • Monitor, record and report on student progress and wellbeing
  • Support break times, transitions and other key periods throughout the school day
  • Promote high expectations, resilience and personal accountability
  • Uphold safeguarding procedures and promote student welfare at all times

We're looking for someone who:

  • Has experience working with children or young people, particularly those with SEMH, SEND or behavioural needs
  • Can build rapport quickly and maintain professional boundaries
  • Remains calm, patient and resilient in challenging situations
  • Has excellent communication and relationship building skills
  • Understands the importance of consistency, empathy and positive reinforcement
  • Is passionate about helping young people reach their potential
  • Holds an Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is happy to apply for a new DBS
