Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Care (EBD), Learning Difficulties or Autism

The Role
We are recruiting an experienced Registered Manager to lead the pre-registration and opening of a new children’s residential home supporting young people with Emotional & Behavioural or Learning Difficulties or Autism. This is an opportunity to shape a service from the ground up, with strong provider support, alongside fully funded relevant training.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop policies, procedures, and Statement of Purpose
- Ensure compliance with Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
- Prepare the home for registration, inspection, and opening
- Recruit, induct, and manage the residential care team
- Provide strong leadership and day-to-day operational oversight
- Deliver high-quality, child-centred care for young people
- Maintain safeguarding, behaviour management, and risk frameworks
- Liaise with Ofsted, professionals, and external agencies
- Drive continuous improvement and inspection readiness
Requirements
Essential
- Experience in children’s residential care (EBD), Learning Difficulties or Autism
- Previous Registered Manager experience OR Deputy Manager ready to step up
- Strong working knowledge of Ofsted regulations and inspections
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or working towards)
- Confident managing services through pre-registration to opening
Desirable
- CQC experience
- Experience opening or registering a new home
- Trauma-informed or therapeutic care background
