Senior Children's Residential Support Worker - Exceptional Benefits Location: Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire Pay: £16.25 – £16.85 per hour + £62.64 per sleep-in Full Time | 39 Hours Per Week | Permanent Make a Real Difference in Children's Residential Care We are recruiting an experienced Senior Children's Residential Support Worker to join a children's residential home in Hemel Hempstead, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties (EBD). This is an excellent opportunity for an existing Senior Support Worker or experienced Children's Residential Support Worker looking to take on greater responsibility and continue progressing within children's residential care. With approximately 4–8 sleep-ins per month, sleep-in payments could add around £3,000–£6,000 per year to your earnings. The Role As a Senior Residential Support Worker, you will provide safe, consistent and child-centred care while supporting the wider residential team. * Build positive and trusting relationships with children and young people * Lead and support Residential Support Workers during shifts * Support young people with EBD, challenging behaviour and emotional needs * Support daily routines, education, appointments and activities * Promote independence, confidence and positive outcomes * Complete accurate records, reports, care plans and handovers * Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection * Work collaboratively with families, social workers and other professionals What We're Looking For * Level 3 in Children & Young People, Residential Childcare or equivalent * At least 12 months' experience supporting children and young people * Previous experience within a children's residential home * Experience supporting EBD, SEMH or challenging behaviour * Confidence supporting colleagues and taking responsibility during shifts * Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional boundaries * Flexibility to work long days, weekends and sleep-ins * Full UK driving licence What's On Offer * £16.25 – £16.85 per hour depending on experience * £62.64 per sleep-in, typically 4–8 per month * Full time, 39-hour permanent contract * Ongoing training and professional development * Career progression towards Deputy Manager and Registered Manager * Regular supervision and management support This role would suit a Senior Residential Support Worker, Senior Children's Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, Children's Residential Team Leader or an experienced Support Worker ready to progress.
