We are recruiting a committed and motivated Deputy Manager for a Children’s Residential Home. This role supports the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home, ensuring high standards of care, safeguarding, and compliance with Ofsted regulations.
The provider is happy to offer training and development, supporting the successful candidate with leadership training and progression towards further qualifications where required.
Key Responsibilities:- Support the Registered Manager in the effective operation of the home
- Lead shifts and provide supervision and guidance to staff
- Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are fully implemented
- Support care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour management strategies
- Assist with staff recruitment, induction, training, and performance management
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to quality assurance processes
- Support preparation for Ofsted inspections and audits
- Build positive relationships with children, families, and external professionals
- Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)
- Experience in a children’s residential setting (senior or supervisory experience desirable)
- Knowledge of safeguarding and Ofsted regulations
- Ability to lead and motivate staff teams
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership & Management (or willingness to work towards)
- Experience supporting children with complex needs, trauma, or challenging behaviour
- Experience contributing to Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes
