Children's Residential Support Worker Location: Littleover, Derby Pay: £13.50 – £15.00 per hour, DOE Children's Residential Home | EBD Full Time | Temporary | Part Time | Permanent ASAP Start Make a Real Difference to a Young Person's Life We are recruiting a Children's Residential Support Worker to join a supportive residential children's home in Littleover, Derby. You will be supporting children and young people with Emotional and Behavioural Difficulties (EBD), providing the consistency, structure and positive relationships they need to feel safe, develop confidence and achieve positive outcomes. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience supporting children and young people who wants to build a long-term career within children's residential care. The Role As a Children's Residential Support Worker, you'll be part of the day to day life of the home and act as a positive role model for the young people you support. Your responsibilities will include: * Building positive and trusting relationships with children and young people * Supporting daily routines, education and appointments * Organising and participating in activities and community outings * Promoting independence, confidence and essential life skills * Supporting young people with their emotional wellbeing * Managing challenging situations calmly and consistently * Supporting positive behaviour and healthy boundaries * Completing daily records, reports and care documentation * Following individual care plans and risk assessments * Working alongside social workers, families and other professionals * Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection * Helping create a safe, structured and nurturing home environment About You We're looking for someone who is caring, resilient and genuinely passionate about supporting children and young people. Ideally, you will have: * Previous experience supporting children or young people * Experience within a children's residential home, supported accommodation or similar setting * Experience supporting EBD, SEMH or challenging behaviour * Good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries * Confidence remaining calm during challenging situations * Strong communication and relationship building skills * A reliable, patient and consistent approach * Flexibility to work within a residential shift pattern, including sleep-ins A Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare, Children & Young People or equivalent would be advantageous.
