AI/ML Engineer Intern

About The Internship We are only interested in applicants currently living in Bristol We’re seeking graduate AI/ML Engineers to join our growing technology team at Candide for a 6-month internship with the possibility of a permanent role. Candide builds innovative digital products and platforms for Babylonstoren, The Newt in Somerset, and other premium hospitality businesses in South Africa, the UK, Italy, the Netherlands, and Greece. We prefer candidates with a real passion for their craft who constantly explore, learn, and improve their skills. The Role As an AI/ML Engineer Intern, you’ll have the opportunity to work with the Data & AI team. You’ll report to our Lead Data Scientist. Your work will be focused on identifying and building applications for emerging technologies from the AI field. It will go through the process from ideation and research to prototyping and development. What You’ll Do Ideate novel applications of AI research to the e-commerce, retail and hospitality sectors. Research recent and relevant techniques and technologies. Work with the Data & AI team to build and iterate on prototypes of your project. Present and share your work with colleagues and stakeholders within our sister companies/estates). Collaborate with various teams across Candide What You’ll Need Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Machine Learning Experience programming. Strong understanding of AI models such as Large Language Models, Diffusion Networks, or Deep Reinforcement Learning methods. Growth mindset, passion for learning new technologies and skills. Awesome technical and personal communication skills. Excitement to build new applications for emerging technology to serve customers, guests and colleagues. Nice to Have, but Not Necessary Strong experience in Python. Research experience in AI. Experience modifying, fine-tuning, and adapting deep learning models.
