Spire Bristol Hospital is looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated perioperative practitioner with Scrub experience to join our team on a flexible working basis. We are looking for a Registered Nurse or ODP who has Scrub experience. The role covers multi-specialties therefore this is a fantastic opportunity to branch out and develop your knowledge and experience. The operating theatres are busy throughout the day, but every day is never the same due to the diversity of the workload, making this theatre department a fantastic place to work.

Duties and responsibilities

  • To provide exemplary planned care for patients within the perioperative and assist in the management and organisation of care provision in the operating theatre.
  • Assess patient’s health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
  • Assist in the delivery of care to meet patient’s health and wellbeing.
  • Provide and receive complex, sensitive or contentious information.
  • Develop own knowledge and skills and that of others.
  • Promotes best practice in health and safety and security.
  • Assist in maintaining and developing services.
  • Contribute to quality improvement.
  • Promote people’s equality, diversity and rights.
  • Apply technology for measurement, monitoring and treatment.
  • Acknowledge the risk of Healthcare Associated Infections (HCAI) and understand own responsibility as agreed with line manager in the prevention and control of HCAI.

Who we’re looking for

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner.
  • Experience of working in teams and with minimum supervision.
  • Previous leadership experience would be an advantage, however we offer award winning training and CPD.
  • HCPC or NMC registration.
  • At least 2 years ortho scrub experience.
  • You must be passionate and driven and be able to demonstrate your dynamic thinking.
  • Completed SFA training would be an advantage, however we are able to offer this as part of your career progression.

Working Hours

Monday – Saturday, earlies and late shifts.
