Transaction Banking (TxB), Product Management, Vice President, London

Job Description

We aim to build a modern and digital-first transaction banking solution to serve our clients. Our business combines the strength, heritage, and expertise of a 150-year-old firm with the agility and entrepreneurial spirit of a tech start-up. Transaction Banking (TxB) provides a cloud-based global platform to serve clients’ treasury needs, including deposits, payments, and sophisticated liquidity options in over 160 countries.

Having successfully established our presence in the US and UK, we are rapidly expanding our capabilities across continental Europe through our key hubs like Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Our goal is to provide a best-in-class digital product that helps European corporate and institutional clients succeed by giving them a holistic view of their treasury and FX operations. Built entirely on a modern, API-first cloud infrastructure, we are the clear alternative to legacy bank systems. We are a team of diverse experts helping our clients shape the future of their global treasury.

WHAT WE LOOK FOR

Goldman Sachs Product Solutions Specialists are innovators, problem-solvers, and enablers. We look for creative collaborators who evolve, adapt to change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment. For our European team, we are seeking a specialist who combines a strong sales mindset with specialized expertise in Foreign Exchange (FX) and domestic European transaction systems.

Our solution specialists bring modern treasury designs to life by working closely with clients, engineers, and product managers. We look for professionals who can navigate complex technical conversations with client developers while confidently presenting cross-border FX and liquidity strategies to CFOs and Corporate Treasurers. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of European payment networks, regional clearing mechanics, and how corporate ERP and Treasury Management Systems (TMS) handle cross-currency flows.

THE ROLE

This is a key leadership role based in Europe (with primary hubs in London, Frankfurt, or Amsterdam) working closely with our Product, Engineering, and Sales teams, and interacting directly with clients. We are looking for a solutions specialist with deep subject matter expertise in corporate FX, cross-border payment flows, and regional European transaction rails.

The work starts with designing end-to-end treasury and payment architectures that address our European clients’ localized and global requirements. The role demands an in-depth understanding of the European payments landscape—including SEPA, SEPA Instant, T2 (TARGET2), CHAPS, and FPS—and how these networks interface with global SWIFT messaging and ISO 20022 standards.

As a key member of the Product Solutions team, you will drive the sales cycle alongside our corporate sales division. You will structure tailored FX solutions, embed cross-currency automated flows into client treasuries, and optimize regional liquidity management. Additionally, you will lead complex post-sale integrations, advising client developers on API connectivity, host-to-host file transfers, and secure data exchange protocols (such as EBICS and eIDAS-compliant open banking standards).

RESPONSIBILITIES AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Solution Architecture: Design comprehensive, end-to-end treasury and payment solutions for European corporate and institutional clients, with a focus on embedding cross-border FX execution into transactional workflows.
  • FX Sales Enablement: Act as the subject matter expert during the sales cycle to pitch complex corporate FX, cross-currency clearing, and multi-currency virtual account solutions.
  • Technical Client Advisory: Lead technical white-boarding sessions, integration workshops, and product demonstrations focusing on API integration, SWIFT connectivity, and ERP/TMS configurations.
  • Regional Rail Integration: Navigate and advise clients on optimization opportunities across European payment networks, including SEPA schemes, T2 (RTGS), CHAPS, and instant payment infrastructures.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with global Engineering, Product Management, and Implementation teams to feedback regional market trends and translate European regulatory shifts (e.g., PSD3, instant payment mandates) into product features.
  • Project Management: Seamlessly manage multiple complex integration projects and client relationships simultaneously, ensuring smooth onboarding and quick time-to-value.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE WE ARE LOOKING FOR

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience in transaction banking, corporate FX sales, payment consulting, or pre-sales engineering.
  • FX & Liquidity Expertise: Proven track record in corporate FX solutions, cross-border payments, multi-currency pricing, and working knowledge of risk management/hedging interfaces.
  • European Rails & Standards: Comprehensive technical and functional understanding of European clearing networks (SEPA Credit Transfer, SEPA Instant, T2/TARGET2, CHAPS, FPS).
  • Messaging & Data Standards: Deep expertise in ISO 20022 XML standards and SWIFT message types (MT and MX) across payments, cash management, and treasury domains.
  • Connectivity & Integration: Strong familiarity with secure file transfer protocols, host-to-host connectivity, open banking APIs, and regional communication standards like EBICS.
  • ERP & TMS Knowledge: Practical understanding of how top-tier Corporate Treasuries integrate via ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Treasury Management Systems (e.g., Kyriba, FIS).
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Business, Finance, Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Communication: Exceptional presentation and communication skills, with the ability to confidently present technical designs to client developers and treasury solutions to CFOs
