Retail Store Manager
£25,734 – £30,149 plus benefits

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week
Location: Newark Shop

About Cancer Research UK: We exist to beat cancer. We are professionals with purpose, but we need to go further and faster. We\’re looking for a talented individual who shares our vision to join as a motivating store manager in our trading team. Your role will involve acting as an ambassador, motivating your team, engaging with the community, and achieving sales and fundraising targets.
Responsibilities include:
- Guiding and inspiring a diverse team of paid staff and volunteers, including recruitment, retention, and development.
- Managing the commercial aspects of the store, including display, merchandising, stock management, and maintaining standards.
- Leading by example to provide excellent customer and supporter service.
- Maximising profit through effective cost control and sales strategies.
- Building relationships with the community and colleagues.
- Organising creative fundraising events to meet targets.
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety, safeguarding, security, and HR policies.
Candidate requirements:
- Experience in managing and inspiring a diverse team.
- Ability to work within targets and motivate others.
- Multi-tasking skills in a lively environment.
- Knowledge of excellent customer service standards.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of high street fashion retail.
- Adaptability and independence in changing situations.
- Awareness of pricing, value, and item worth.
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis, balancing work and personal life.
