Retail Store Assistant

£12.44 per hour plus benefits

Reports to: Shop manager

Department: Trading

Location: Chelsea

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Part time, 15 hours per week, working 2 full days including Saturdays and Sundays on a rotating shift pattern

Closing date: Open until filled. We will be shortlisting on a rolling basis and will close the vacancy once we have received sufficient applications.

We’re seeking a motivated store assistant to join our trading team. You’ll be an ambassador for Cancer Research UK, engaging with the community and showcasing our work.

Responsibilities include:

  • Providing excellent customer and supporter service.
  • Working as part of the shop team to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
  • Maintaining shop standards, including visual presentation, safeguarding, and health and safety.
  • Building relationships with the community and colleagues.
  • Supporting fundraising events.
  • Taking keyholder responsibilities (training provided).
  • Performing manual handling and physical activities as required.

Ideal candidate qualities:

  • Understanding of excellent customer service.
  • Experience in a busy customer service environment.
  • Ability to manage workload independently and work well in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, balancing work and personal life.
