Retail Store Assistant (with keyholder responsibility) £12.21 per hour plus benefits

Reports to: Shop manager

Department: Trading

Location: St Andrews, 143 South St Shop

Contract: Permanent

Working hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week (must be flexible)

We’re seeking a motivated retail assistant to join Cancer Research UK’s trading team. You’ll act as an ambassador for Cancer Research UK and take responsibility for the shop on Sundays. You’ll also be surrounded by people who are as dedicated to beating cancer as you are.

What will I be doing?

  • Overseeing the running of the shop on Sundays, including keyholder responsibilities (training provided) and supporting a diverse team of volunteers.
  • Assisting the wider shop team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
  • Reviewing and processing donated goods and new stock.
  • Generating creative ideas to help increase income, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Using customer service skills to ensure our customers and supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Maintaining shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health and safety.
  • Performing manual handling and physical activities as part of daily duties.
