Responsibilities
- Drive and lead the delivery of cross-department projects, responsible for planning, delivery, reporting and resolving blockers.
- Matrix-manage cross-departmental project teams and lead teams of varying size, creating accountability and collaboration.
- Collaborate with Sponsor and Business Owners to define vision, objectives, milestones, governance and roadmap.
- Establish governance frameworks and manage decisions and escalations.
- Take direct accountability for stakeholder expectations and maintain strong working relationships.
- Develop clear plans with deliverables, milestones, dependencies, risks and mitigations.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans to meet goals and best practice standards.
- Provide briefing materials for key meetings with external stakeholders.
- Oversee cross-departmental activities and key priorities aligned with governance points.
- Own departmental meeting planning and collaborate with internal communications teams on events.
- Support operational planning and reporting for the department.
- Monitor department objectives and work plans, reporting to the Director and Leadership Team and identifying risks.
- Contribute to wider Planning & Delivery Team activities by embedding a consistent project delivery framework.
Qualifications
- Strong project management track record with delivery across diverse projects.
- Knowledge of formal project management methodology such as APM or Prince2.
- Highly organised, able to set and meet demanding deadlines and hold others accountable.
- Ability to build effective relationships with broad stakeholders and influence with consensus.
- Strong analytical skills, bringing structure to complex problems and presenting data concisely.
- Conflict resolution skills, confident discussing difficult issues and influencing solutions at all levels.
- Self-starter with capacity to work independently and deliver day-to-day workload with minimal supervision.
- Strategic thinking beyond immediate issues.
- Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office and Office 365.
