Hours: 6 – Sundays only

Location: Edinburgh, Portobello

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the running of the shop on a Sunday, including keyholder responsibilities (training provided).
  • Support a talented and diverse team of volunteers.
  • Assist the wider shop team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
  • Review and process donated goods and new stock.
  • Generate creative ideas to help generate new income, with guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Provide customer service to ensure customers and supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance and health & safety.
  • Perform a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required within day-to-day duties.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of what makes great customer service.
  • Experience working in a lively and vibrant environment.
  • Adaptability in changing situations and ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong relationship building and communication skills.
  • Flexibility – willingness to work on a rota basis to cover the needs of the business.
  • Willingness to undergo a satisfactory basic DBS check.
