At Cancer Research UK, we exist to beat cancer. We’re looking for a Content Strategy Manager to join us. In this exciting role, you will manage our organisational content model strategy, leading stakeholders to deliver structured content following the migration of our website into a new content management system (CMS). Working across CRUK, you’ll take an active role to ensure the modular (headless) system supports and furthers our strategy, interfacing between the business and technology. Focusing on designing and connecting content, your work will ensure CRUK gives a coherent brand and user experience across our content ecosystem.
Through the Content Excellence Function, you will join up the details and practicalities of how structured content expresses our brand. You will help us maintain content standards and help us plan for content to be as impactful, relevant and consistent across all channels for all audiences.
What will I be doing?
- Provide leadership and direction for the development of structured content in the new content management system and its content models
- Develop, deliver and maintain a reusable content strategy, ensuring that new content is structured and connected, so it can be found, used and re-used
- Establish a strong foundation in our content models for omnichannel and personalisation, in line with CRUK’s ambitions, and evolve the content models as this work progresses
- Support on integrations that link up with Contentful, including future AI integrations
- Take an active role to consider equality and diversity as part of decisions, and to embed accessibility and inclusion into content and technology processes
- Cultivate partnerships with stakeholders across the charity and co-design structured content
- Inspire confidence across teams; coach and educate staff on new approaches, including the design (and supporting the delivery of) training for content editors, and the provision and maintenance of guidance and other resources
What are we looking for?
- Strategic thinker with experience developing and translating content strategy into operational planning and technical delivery
- Relevant experience and knowledge of delivering structured content and content modelling in a headless content management system (CMS)
- Relevant experience of overlapping and complex services, teams and technologies
- Knowledge of applying structured content approaches to content creation and management
- Outstanding ability to simplify processes to be more user-centric; able to prioritise, handle constraints, and make trade-offs
- A strong communicator, able to convey complex information, ideas and procedures clearly
- Relevant experience and knowledge of a variety of content technologies, including CMS, asset management, content performance and analytics
Our organisation values are designed to guide all that we do. Bold: Act with ambition, courage and determination. Credible: Act with rigour and professionalism.
