Contract: 12 month fixed-term contract
Hours: Part time 21-28 hours per week (3 or 4 days)
Location: Stratford, London. Office-based with high flexibility (1-2 days per week in the office)

What will I be doing?
In this role, you will help shape the future of our cancer support services—so we can continue to offer sector-leading support at every step of the cancer journey.
- Lead the ongoing development of Cancer Chat and Nurse-led Cancer Information Helpline.
- Ensure operational plans and service budgets are well-managed, aligned with strategy, and delivered effectively.
- Lead the rollout of our new Cancer Patient Information Services (CPIS) Theory of Change; working with consultants and internal teams to develop a robust measurement and evaluation framework and building a cross-team culture of continuous service improvement.
- Lead diversification approaches to delivering cancer patient services, working closely with the operational managers of the Helpline and Cancer Chat and colleagues across CPIS.
- Play a role in shaping a channel diversification strategy for patient information and support.
- Act as a trusted expert on patient needs and best practice in patient support services, guiding colleagues across CRUK.
- Support income generation activity by advising on supporter journeys and helping shape fundraising aligned service experiences.
What are we looking for?
- Proven leadership skills with experience leading and developing diverse, specialist teams—such as clinicians, advisors or frontline support staff—in a changing context.
- Deep expertise in leading, planning and delivering patient and public facing support services at a national level.
- Strong strategic thinking, with a track record of shaping services, informing and developing strategy in an information and support service context.
- A track record in evaluating and monitoring patient or public services; ideally using Theory of Change impact models and embedding these in service team practice.
- Deep understanding of the needs of people living with health conditions—ideally with direct experience supporting cancer patients.
- Strong advocacy skills able to champion accessible services that reach groups affected by inequality or exclusion.
- Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to represent patient needs, building strong relationships at all levels and influence.
