About the role

We are currently looking for a Mass Spectrometry Technologist within the Biological Mass Spectrometry facility. The aim of this post is to support all the protein/peptide MS service and development needs of CRUKMI research groups utilising protein chemistry, liquid chromatography, tandem mass spectrometry and associated data analysis.

About you

You should have a degree in biological or chemical science (or equivalent relevant experience). You should have relevant experience working in a research, service or analytical laboratory including the maintenance of equipment to pre-defined standards. Experience with nano liquid chromatography, tandem MS, Orbitrap MS, statistical analysis, bioinformatics and automation systems would be a significant advantage. You should have effective communication skills (both verbal and written), be able to keep comprehensive records and have great organisational skills with the ability to solve problems independently. You need a proven ability to contribute to projects both intellectually and practically including the analysis and interpretation of complex results.
