Senior Salesforce architect role responsible for safeguarding and evolving the Salesforce platform post‑migration, ensuring secure, scalable, and well‑integrated solutions aligned with Cancer Research UK’s strategy.

Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain the Salesforce platform architecture, delivering end‑to‑end, secure, and integrated solutions.
  • Provide technical leadership, standards, and governance across teams.
  • Ensure solutions are fit for purpose, support wider architecture capability via coaching, guidance, and oversight.
  • Define guidelines for platform usage, customisation, and integration to maintain consistency, security, and scalability.
  • Ensure scalability, performance, and reliability meet current and future operational needs.
  • Translate business requirements into high‑level and low‑level technical designs for delivery teams.
  • Oversee implementation of new platform features, modules, and enhancements.
  • Build and guide proofs of concept to validate solution options.
  • Design and oversee Salesforce data integrations, ensuring quality, integrity, and reliability.
  • Provide leadership across engineering and architecture communities, manage technical risk, reduce debt, and develop a Centre of Excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Experienced Salesforce architect with strong knowledge of the platform within large organisations (maintaining, developing, or implementing).
  • Strong architectural thinking with exposure to multi‑platform integrations.
  • Demonstrable understanding of Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, and related features.
  • Knowledge of accounting soft ledger and Findock advantageous but not essential.
  • Proven knowledge of Salesforce security and governance best practices, including impact assessments.
  • Track record of building credible stakeholder relationships, strong communication and influencing skills.
  • Experience coaching and guiding technical decisions across teams and partners.
  • Experience delivering architecture through Agile Product teams (Scrum, Kanban, SAFe, Lean).
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
