Hours: 6 – Sundays only

Location: Southampton (Shirley) shop

Eligibility: Must be eligible to work in the UK. Cancer Research UK does not offer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the running of the shop on Sunday, including keyholder responsibility and supporting volunteers.
  • Assist the wider shop team to achieve sales and fundraising targets.
  • Review and process donated goods and new stock.
  • Develop creative ideas to generate new income under guidance of the Shop Manager.
  • Use customer service skills to welcome and appreciate customers and supporters.
  • Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance, and health and safety.
  • Perform varied manual handling and physical activity as required.

Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of great customer service.
  • Experience working in a lively and vibrant environment.
  • Adaptability to changing situations, and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Ability to build relationships and communicate well.
  • Flexibility to cover rota‑based work; some flexibility needed for work schedule.
  • DBS check requirement upon offer.
  • Under 18s cannot be hired.
