Retail store assistant (with keyholder responsibility) £12.71 per hour plus benefits.

Reports to: Shop manager.

Department: Trading.

Contract: Fixed term until 26 September 2026.

Hours: 5 – Sundays only.

Location: Crieff Shop.

Closing date: 31 May 2026 23:55.

Eligibility: You must be eligible to work in the UK. Cancer Research UK does not offer visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee the running of the shop on a Sunday, including keyholder responsibilities with training provided and support a team of volunteers.
  • Assist the wider shop team in achieving sales and fundraising targets.
  • Review and process donated goods and new stock.
  • Generate creative ideas to help generate new income under guidance from the Shop Manager.
  • Use customer‑service skills to make customers and supporters feel welcome and appreciated.
  • Maintain shop standards regarding safeguarding, compliance and health and safety.
  • Perform a varied amount of manual handling and physical activity required as part of the daily duties.
Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of excellent customer service.
  • Experience working in a lively and vibrant environment.
  • Adaptability in changing situations, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Strong relationship‑building and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work on a rota basis, balancing business needs with personal commitments.
