The Health Systems Engagement (HSE) team is part of our Evidence & Implementation (E&I) department within the Policy, Information & Communications directorate. The E&I department drives impact for people affected by cancer by placing evidence at the heart of the charity’s work. The HSE team collaborates with external stakeholders to design and deliver education, engagement, and products to drive uptake of innovation and reduce cancer inequalities.

As a Programme Administrator, you will play an integral role in coordinating and delivering activities across the HSE team and the wider department. You will provide administrative and logistical support, help keep operations running smoothly, organise meetings and events, manage documentation and file-sharing systems, support internal communications, coordinate grant applications, and ensure compliance. You will collaborate with diverse internal teams and external stakeholders while contributing to the continuous improvement of our operational systems.

What are you looking for?

  • Administrative background with experience providing administrative support and record keeping in health and/or research environments.
  • Accurate and efficient data entry and record keeping with high attention to detail and Microsoft proficiency (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of administrative financial processes (such as research grant applications and administration, raising requisitions, and tracking spend).
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills with the ability to plan, schedule, and manage multiple tasks, meetings, events, and diaries to deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to:
    • Network across the organisation and build collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
    • Collaborate as part of a team to deliver outcomes
    • Communicate effectively in writing and in person with a wide audience
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to driving process improvements and resolving challenges.
  • An understanding of the importance of scientific collaboration and the impact of Health Systems Engagement and Evidence & Implementation in Cancer Research UK’s work.
