JOB SUMMARY
To undertake general maintenance duties and to assist technical staff as required. Please note that the role is based within the Infrastructure Department – therefore the majority of the works will be external. Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Salary up to £40,000 per annum.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
- To carry out general PPMs/reactive and project related tasks as instructed and to complete all tasks in an efficient and timely and compliant manner.
- To undertake other skilled tasks in which competence has been demonstrated.
- To maintain high standards of housekeeping across the estate.
- To be thoroughly familiar and comply with the Company's "Health & Safety" policy and procedures and to immediately report any hazards or infringements to either the Building Services Manager or Engineering Supervisors / Manager.
- To complete all associated paperwork daily in accordance with company procedures.
- To have an understanding of fountains/water features and maintain the estates water features and associated plant to a very high standard.
- To have an understanding and maintain all HVAC equipment.
- To complete regular maintenance of fire alarm and sprinkler systems.
- To ensure that all office support facilities are operational and of a high standard.
- To carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by the Engineering Supervisors / Engineering Manager.
- To maintain the estates drainage system, including roadway drains.
- To undertake basic locksmith duties, including fire door and damper checks.
- To have an understanding and be able to maintain building management systems.
- To have an understanding and be able to maintain smoke extract systems.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
- The incumbent must have a minimum qualification of Plumbing level 2.
- Previous experience of working in a maintenance environment, ideally within a large estate.
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with management and tenants.
- The incumbent must be self-motivated, proactive, approachable and demonstrate a willingness to assist others.
- The incumbent must be technically minded and have a good understanding of HVAC, controls, pumps, fire life & safety.
- The incumbent must have an appreciation of the importance of customer service and how this is applied in the context of Canary Wharf.
- Time management to achieve effective, optimum results is key.
- To be able to identify problems and to have the ability to actively seek solutions is essential.
- The incumbent must be able to adapt their way of working to suit the needs of the department as business needs change, showing flexibility and adaptability.
- Must hold a valid driving license, forklift license and boat license and must be qualified to use high powered jetting equipment.
