JOB SUMMARY
Tax Accountant to focus on preparing and filing UK corporation tax returns and partnership returns for a large portfolio of entities together with associated administration. The work involves working closely with tax managers, assisting with tax provisioning for accounts purposes, and supporting with other ad-hoc taxes. The candidate must be proactive, independent, and able to quickly establish strong relationships.
1 day WFH / 4 days office
Salary: £60-80k
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1.Independently prepare UK corporation tax computations (partnerships and corporate) and filing using Alpha tax software, for review by the tax managers, focusing on operational consistency and accuracy across your portfolio.
2.Assist with preparation of statutory tax notes disclosures for UK companies under FRS102, tax provisioning process and provide support as required on tax accounting and reporting.
3.Assist in preparing other tax documents and calculations including group relief, REIT financial statements, corporate interest restriction calculations, transfer pricing, capital allowance and tax base cost analysis.
4.Support with investor reporting and tax payment analysis.
5.Adhering to the tax function\’s process and procedure manuals.
6.Prepare tax payments for treasury processing.
7.Assist in preparing ATED returns.
8.Assist with ad hoc tax queries.
9.Other ad hoc tax work as required relating to the groups own tax affairs.
10.Collaborate with the wider finance on tax matters.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
The candidate should be hard-working, committed to performing to a high standard, willing to learn. They should be operating in a UK Corporation Tax compliance setting focussed on preparation of corporate tax returns in private practice or equivalent in industry. The candidate should ideally have a relevant accounting or tax professional qualification, or a demonstrable track record of working in an appropriate tax compliance setting with excellent technical and IT skills. In addition suitable candidate will possess the following characteristics:
1.Experience of working in a fast-paced compliance environment juggling multiple stakeholders is vital
2.Suitable tax or accounting qualification is desirable but not essential
3.Alpha tax experience or experience with other UK tax return software
4.Proven high level of IT proficiency, specifically with strong excel skills, and track record of using technology to improve / support manual processes.
5.Self-starter with excellent communication and organisational skills, specifically manging a large portfolio and reporting to multiple managers.
6.Some demonstrable real estate experience is desirable.
