To work in an established team, maintaining the green and open spaces at Canary Wharf to a high standard.

Salary: £34,505

Work Shift: Monday to Friday 7:30am to 5:30pm (Summer Hours) & 7:30am to 3:30pm (Winter Hours)

Main Responsibilities:

  • To work in a team maintaining turf, bedding plant displays, hedges, shrubs, trees, grass cutting, weeding, pest and disease control, plants in atrium and office areas.
  • To assist in all landscape schemes requiring ground preparation, planting and turfing, bulb planting and any other usual tasks which falls within the upkeep of open spaces.
  • To have experience of controls and monitoring automatic irrigation systems.
  • To carry out tree and aerial hedge pruning and have a knowledge of tree pests and diseases.
  • To perform litter picking duties in all landscape areas, as directed by the Landscape Manager.
  • To work within a team and also be capable of working on his/her own initiative with minimal supervision.
  • To assist other departments in emergencies and if workload is low due to weather conditions or winter seasons.
  • Develop and maintain appropriate and effective communication with other team members & Landscape Supervisor.
  • Adherence to Method Statements & Risk Assessments.
  • Must be competent with mobile phone technology as tasks are delivered via a smart phone.
  • The team operate a winter and summer hours rota, shorter hours in the winter and longer hours in the summer.
  • City & Guilds or Nat Certificate in Horticulture is desirable.
  • The applicant must have an appreciation of the importance of excellent customer service.
