About Us

From the super creative team behind Crispin and Bistro Freddie, the newly opened Canal is our latest venture, a vibrant, waterside restaurant and bar located on the edge of Westbourne Park. Built around seasonal cooking, natural wines, great music, and genuine hospitality, Canal is quickly becoming a local hub and destination in its own right.

We are looking for a Restaurant Manager who leads by example, creates memorable guest experiences, and inspires their team to deliver warm, knowledgeable and genuine hospitality every day. About You

You are naturally guest-focused and understand that every interaction shapes how our guests feel about us. You lead from the floor, building lasting relationships with regulars whilst ensuring every first-time guest feels completely at home. You have a passion for hospitality, a sharp eye for detail and take pride in creating consistently high standards across every aspect of service. You understand that excellence is found in the small things, and you empower your team to deliver thoughtful, knowledgeable and personable service. You are an experienced leader who enjoys developing people, creating a positive and supportive culture, and encouraging continuous learning. You remain calm under pressure, communicate openly and lead with integrity.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Leading exceptional service and ensuring every guest receives a warm, memorable experience.
  • Inspiring, coaching and developing your team to deliver confident, knowledgeable hospitality.
  • Maintaining outstanding standards across service, presentation and restaurant operations.
  • Building a culture of accountability, teamwork and continuous improvement.
  • Working closely with the kitchen and wider management team to deliver seamless service.
  • Responding to guest feedback with empathy, professionalism and a genuine desire to improve.
  • Driving operational excellence whilst never losing sight of what matters most – our guests and our people.

What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience as a Restaurant Manager or in a Senior Management role within a quality-led restaurant.
  • A genuine passion for hospitality, with a strong appreciation and enthusiasm for wine, beverages and exceptional food.
  • Demonstrable experience in wine and beverage service, with the confidence to lead, inspire and develop teams in this area.
  • An unwavering focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences through knowledgeable, attentive and personalised service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining the highest operational standards.
  • Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
  • WSET Level 3 qualification is preferred.
  • A desire to learn, develop and continually improve both yourself and those around you.
