Become a Let's Walk leader on your local canal. Spend time outdoors, be active and meet others, bringing people together in your local area, delivering friendly and welcoming canal walks for all. You'll work with other volunteers, promoting health and wellbeing, nature connection, meaningful interactions, and community. We'll encourage you to explore new ideas and develop new routes with us. Walk leader training will be provided as well as the opportunity to learn skills in Nordic walking, leading in nature and other areas that may interest you. This is a perfect volunteering role for those with a keen interest in the waterways, a love of walking and nature and who enjoys spending time with others. Why we want you
As a Waterside Leader we need your support to help facilitate a wonderful experience to those looking to enjoy and improve our network by leading a number of activities. We have Walk Leader, Mental Health First Aider, Paddle Instructor and other opportunities to offer you in this role. Your support with this role helps us connect to more people and inspire them to help keep canals alive.
What you will be doing
- Leading events such as guided walks or paddlesport activities
- Working within team running an event or a series of events
- Engaging visitors and support with our wonderful waterways through different activities
- Learning new skills
When you register as a volunteer, we will ask you about any unspent convictions which you need to declare and risk assess these as needs be.
