Join Our Team: Risk ManagerJoin our Assurance division as a Risk Manager reporting in to the Head of Policy, Risk & Compliance, who reports in to the Chief Assurance Officer.The Risk Manager acts as the Trust’s senior adviser on risk management, continually developing its Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and embedding it at all levels of the organisation.Working Hours & TravelThis role follows 37 hours, Monday to Friday working pattern. The vacancy will be offered on a remote working basis, with a requirement to attend our main hub spaces as and when required.Role OverviewThis is a fantastic opportunity to shape and embed the Trust’s risk management framework, driving a strong risk-aware culture across the organisation. You will lead on risk reporting, assurance reviews, policy development and stakeholder engagement, working closely with senior leaders to identify, manage and mitigate key risks. The role is ideal for an experienced risk professional with strong analytical skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to provide practical, risk-based advice in a complex operational environment.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the embedding and continual development of the Trust’s ERM framework across the organisation, fostering and promoting a risk-aware cultureMaintain and report on risk registers at organisational and divisional levels, providing presentations and advice to the Executive committee and Audit and Risk Committee as requiredManage assurance reviews and reporting across key risksMaintain and develop core risk policies and proceduresDevelop collaborative relationships, facilitate and lead workshops, and engage teams across the Trust Act as the key contact for the Trust’s risk management software and become an expert user, providing advice on its use to colleagues and ensuring that the Trust continues to utilise the software to best effectMaintain a Training Needs Analysis, provide training to relevant colleagues and deliver an effective communications plan to support a risk-aware cultureAbout YouEssentialSignificant experience (5 years +) in risk management Experience of leading a risk management function Excellent knowledge of risk management standards, internal controls & assuranceExcellent IT skills (particularly Excel and Word) and the ability to become an expert user of the Trust’s risk management softwareExcellent communication skills, with the ability to provide pragmatic advice (including to senior leaders) and resolve complex issues in an operational environment, providing constructive challenge as appropriateAbility to collaborate effectively with others, securing the buy-in and ongoing engagement of teams across the TrustAbility to work autonomously, manage a wide and varied workload and meet tight operational deadlines.Strong analytical skills and ability to analyse qualitative and quantitative data.
