Join Our Team: Property Litigation ParalegalWe’re excited to welcome a new Property Litigation Paralegal to join our Legal division. Navigate your future and lock in your career as we keep our canals open and alive. Working Hours & Location This role follows a 37 hours, Monday to Friday working pattern. The position will be offered on a remote working basis, with an occasional requirement to attend our main hub spaces.Role Overview The Property Litigation Paralegal will support the legal team in the effective and efficient conduct of all property litigation related legal matters within the Trust.Key Responsibilities:Supporting the legal team in the day-to-day conduct of the Trust’s property litigation matters.Assisting the Property Litigation Lawyers with the effective administration and case management of claims and disputes arising in relation to Trust property.Obtaining relevant property deeds and documents from internal sources and the Land Registry.Liaising with wider Trust colleagues to source and coordinate relevant case matter information.Record management and administration of case management software.Day to day management of the Land Registry Notices received by the Trust, including obtaining instructions from the internal client, liaising with applicants and/or their solicitors and the Land Registry., Reviewing title documents, leases, licences, and other supporting documents to compile title summaries for the lawyers.Drafting of a variety of legal notices and client advice under supervision. Skills & QualificationsEssential:Experienced property litigation or property paralegal.Knowledge of basic land law and experience of reviewing title documents.Excellent attention to detail and good drafting skills.Have a proven track record of building and maintaining relationships both internally and externally.Collaborative and able to think creatively when solving problems.Excellent IT skills (e.g. case management software, Excel, Word, Land Registry portal). Comply with Canal & River Trust Health & Safety policy and defined standards, report incidents, accidents and near misses. To be aware of your own responsibilities regarding safeguarding and to support our commitment to providing safe environments and working practises that promote and protect the safety and welfare of children, young people and adults at risk at all times.Desirable:Experience in producing witness evidence and court bundles desirable.Knowledge of court system and litigation rules.We reserve the right to close this vacancy early if we receive sufficient suitable applications for the role.
