Join us today to become a member of our Towpath Team and be part of the team keeping history alive by preserving our waterways. In this role, you’ll get to experience the many faces and locations of our beautiful network and help maintain our structures and assets. Whether it’s working on pre‑planned maintenance cutting back vegetation around aqueducts, or tackling graffiti in our more urban locations, our team does a fantastic job of ensuring there’s plenty of beauty on the doorstep. This is a great opportunity to make a huge difference in your community whilst learning more about the canals in your area.
Our HNC Work Party takes place every other Monday from 10:00‑14:00 at various locations along the North West section of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal (Ashton ‑ Diggle). Precise locations will be outlined in our monthly newsletter sent out on the 21st of each month.
What you will be doing:
- Volunteering as part of a team, you might be helping with vegetation management, planting, painting, litter picking or many other tasks.
