Location: Remote working from home, with one day per week working at Ellesmere Port hub.
The Canal & River Trust, one of the UK’s biggest charities, manages 2,000 miles of waterways across England and Wales. We aim to transform our canals and rivers into spaces that promote wellbeing and community engagement.
We seek a Customer Support Administrator to deliver excellent customer service and support, handling face-to-face, phone, and written inquiries, and providing administrative and financial support to the North West regional team.
Location and coverage
The role is primarily remote, with access to a nearby hub at Ellesmere Port for collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills/Qualifications & Experience
Key Accountabilities:
- Produce accurate and timely communication via phone, notice boards, post, email, social media, and the website.
- Organize events and functions for internal and external customers.
- Manage administrative tasks including post, meetings, health visits, training, building management, and equipment servicing.
- Generate clear reports to support business needs.
- Maintain organized and retrievable records.
- Use SAP for financial and administrative services, including ordering and notifications.
- Support the operation of welcome stations along the waterway.
- Uphold Trust values and promote diversity and inclusion in all activities.
About You:
- NVQ Level 2 Business Administration or equivalent.
- GCSEs in Maths and English.
- Knowledge of safety procedures.
- Experience with SAP and customer service roles.
- Experience working with volunteers is desirable.
- Strong communication skills and ability to handle challenging situations.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Professional demeanor and good personal presentation.
- Ability to work under pressure and work well with others.
