In this role, you will be part of a talented team consisting of engineers who offer in-house advice and support to their colleagues as well as premium service towards our customers. This position will make use of knowledge and skillsets of solar product and energy storage experience to provide technical support and engage technical sales activities for Canadian Solar residential energy storage system.
Main Tasks:
- Technical Sales support and 1st level contact for sales for technical or contract related questions
- Visit customers together with sales managers and conduct product presentations, customer training sessions, webinars and customer events
- PV project design and proposal support
- Close collaboration with Product Management and Customer Service in EU and with HQ teams
- Be the expert in usage and analysis of PVSyst and other PV simulation tools supporting Residential Solar System design and production analysis
- Define, clarify and optimize technical terms within the contract negotiation in alignment with sales
- Create trusted professional relationships with customers, Sales Managers and technical stakeholders in the market
- Product launch and ready-for-sales support
- Development of technical sales tools and/or demonstration kit in collaboration with Product Management
- Development of Technical sales documentation in collaboration with Product Management
- Develop product training materials for customers and their potential end customers, including homeowners and installers in collaboration with Product Management
- Hands-on technical support with system design, installation and commissioning of CSI based PV+Storage system
- Advocate of customer needs and requirements
- Follow codes and certifications as they develop; analyze their impact on the market and specific products; make recommendations to management on how to leverage these developments to CSI’s benefit
EDUCATION/ SKILLS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or comparable; Master’s degree is a plus
- Minimum 3 years of experience in sales engineering, technical sales, or product management, ideally in the energy storage sector within the PV industry
- Installation experience with PV module and battery storage system is a strong plus
- Excellent technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn detailed information about the existing product portfolio and to communicate and answer technical and product related questions and topics
- Understanding and application of financial product calculation – product cost and product sales price definition, analysis and recommendation
- Convincingly and effectively communicate with customers, installers, homeowners, Residential PV integrators, industry working groups and regulatory authorities
- Valid driver license, required
- Fluent English, any other language e.g. German / Italian is a plus
