JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking an experienced Electronic FX (eFX) Trader to join the Global Markets team. The successful candidate will help manage and grow the bank’s electronic FX franchise by optimizing pricing, execution quality, risk management, and client experience across all electronic channels. This is a front-office role that requires strong market expertise, quantitative aptitude, and close collaboration with quant, sales, technology, and risk functions.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Market making and Franchise Development
    • Calibrate, monitor and manage pricing engines for spot, forwards, and NDFs
    • Monitor client performance including quote quality, profitability, and client outcomes
    • Develop and execute growth plan for regional franchise across all eFX products in partnership with distribution teams
  • Risk and inventory management
    • Manage real-time inventory, drive P&L through focused client servicing and disciplined trading strategies while adhering to risk limits
    • Work alongside technology, risk and quantitative leads to improve risk oversight and governance
  • Execution quality and liquidity management
    • Oversee order routing, venue selection, and liquidity aggregation systems
  • Data, analytics, and continuous improvement
    • Working in partnership with quantitative team members across all aspects of eFX pricing and risk management
    • Act as SME in partnership with Technology teams to refine pricing and hedging systems and models
    • Develop, democratize and use data-driven tools to refine client, pricing and hedging analysis and reporting
  • Governance and compliance
    • Adhere to the FX Global Code and internal best practice policies
    • Maintain compliance with all applicable regulators

As a key contributor to the business unit, this job has the authority to recommend changes to business processes in order to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Qualifications & Mandatory Skills and Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in FX markets, including 3+ years directly in eFX trading, market making, or electronic execution
  • Proven track record of franchise management and growth
  • Proven ability to work alongside quants and voice trading teams in the development and application of models and analytics frameworks
  • Experience with FX spot trading including market structure, execution dynamics, and electronic liquidity provision
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with Sales, Technology, Market Risk, and Compliance
  • Solid grasp of electronic pricing workflows including streaming and RFQ, API-based client connectivity (FIX), RFQ workflows, and streaming price distribution
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, or related field; advanced degree is an asset

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Proficiency in data analysis (Python and/or SQL); familiarity with time-series databases (e.g., kdb+/q)
  • Comfort working with quantitative models (pricing, volatility surfaces, liquidity curves) and model governance
  • Experience with swaps, forwards, and NDFs pricing models and risk management strategies
  • Familiarity with options for risk management
  • Technical experience in development of high-performance systems, large-scale data, systems optimization, and use of Ai tooling.
