Canadian Blood Services is looking for a Regular part-time Plasma Associate - Sudbury (RPT) to join our dynamic Collections Operations East team in Sudbury ON. The Collections Operations East team supports Canadian Blood Services by collecting plasma in a safe manner to enable safe products which save lives. In this role you will be responsible for performing assigned duties associated with the plasma donation and production process as defined by standard operating procedures. You will participate in projects and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to the success of the program. You will also act as an ambassador of the program to promote and contribute to a collaborative and customer‑centric work environment.

- Utilizing your superior interpersonal and communication skills you will greet and assist all plasma donors as they progress through the donation process in an engaging and positive manner.
- You will apply your experience and training in phlebotomy to perform venipuncture according to established standards monitoring donors for safety and comfort and providing post‑donation care and instruction.
- Your excellent attention to detail will be utilized in ensuring completeness of information in our IT system for products when completing the labelling process for products and when preparing products for freezing, centrifuging and shipment to our testing facilities.
- Drawing on your knowledge or experience in continuous improvement you will contribute to the framework of continuous improvement and implementation of best practice standards with the team.
Desired Education and Skills
- Completion of post‑secondary education in a relevant discipline from a recognized institution preferably in science or health‑related fields of study.
- Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years of progressive experience working with the public particularly in a high customer‑focused environment.
- Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new systems and knowledge of Microsoft Word and Outlook are considered assets.
- Knowledge of and experience working with current Good Manufacturing Practices.
